In this 3-hour class, you'll bring your new froggy friend to life with woodburning and mixed media! You will need to have your own woodburner and bring your wood of choice, whether you purchased the materials kit (available as an add-on at checkout), or want to use your own piece of wood. The wood I will be using is a large maple bud vase (listed here), but you can bring something different to burn if you'd rather do that.
With your template already on the wood and ready to go, we can start burning right away. I'll walk you through the techniques for burning everything and you'll learn exactly how to get the lines and details.
For this project, adding the color could take longer than the burn itself, so we'll need to allot as much time as possible for the color process. I'll walk you through the entire watercolor process I use for getting a shaded green effect on the frog. We'll also be using acrylic paint and a white gel pen.
This class is meant to be exploratory and fun! It's okay if you don't love your frog at the end of class (even though he will love you). We're learning new things and color techniques to strengthen your pyro toolkit of knowledge! This class will be very relaxed and you'll be encouraged to let go of worries about standards of perfection. Your froggo will be adorable, I promise.

Crisp linework is my specialty. I use a variety of nibs to achieve my linework and you'll learn all about it.
3: Mixed-media for the win!
We will be using watercolors, acrylic, and white gel pen to achieve the look of this frog. You'll learn about making gradients with watercolors and where to put the "shaded areas" with different shades of green.
